The Lightning Network ecosystem includes core software like the Lightning Network Daemon and supporting systems such as watchtowers, peer availability/network monitoring, liquidity provisioning tools, and automated channel management. We seek a systems-oriented engineer to design and develop components supporting network bootstrapping and growth. These tools aim to lower entry barriers for routing node operation and improve infrastructure management for existing operators.

Ideal candidates are passionate about Bitcoin and committed to making Bitcoin usage affordable, fast, and simple.

• Develop advanced tooling for automated channel management and client channel selection (autopilot)
• Implement algorithms for capital management and optimization (fee maximization, efficiency)
• Design and maintain monitoring and alert systems for routing nodes
• Develop metrics for passive network health analysis based on graph and node signals
• Create systems to help nodes/users acquire and manage liquidity on the Lightning Network

• Experience building secure, scalable, highly available systems
• Experience supporting public APIs
• Open source contribution experience preferred
• Proficiency in systems programming languages like Go, C, or C++
• Security-focused and adversarial mindset
• Knowledge of Bitcoin and cryptography; Lightning Network protocol understanding preferred
