University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support their Greater Pittsburgh OB/GYN office in Bethel Park! This position will work Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm with no weekends or holidays! One shift until 6:00pm per week may be required, as needed. This position will be responsible for assisting RNs with their daily duties, such as test results, OB teaching, and ONAF submissions. The LPN will also assist rooming of patients, injections, vital signs and assisting with answering phones and scheduling appointments as needed.We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated LPN for a busy OB/GYN practice! Responsibilities:
- Draw blood.
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. One year clinical experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.
