Administer nursing care within scope of practice as outlined in section 4723.01 to 4723.40 of the Ohio Revised Code. Works under direction of a Registered Nurse, licensed Physician, Dentist, Podiatrist, or Optometrist. Performs skilled practical nursing procedures and treatments, including: Obtaining vital statistics Applying oxygen Applying sterile dressing Inserting catheters Reinserting gastroscopy tubes Suctioning Wound treatments Administering enemas Administering douches Obtaining specimens Administering Enteral feedings Administering medications, including: Oral Rectal Topical Inhalation Subcutaneous Intramuscular Observing, documenting, and reporting patient conditions and taking appropriate actions. Providing thorough and knowledgeable report of patient needs to RN/ Physician. Providing patient teaching. Monitoring patients during and as follow-up for procedures.
