Job Description :

Bridges of Iowa is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC or LISW) for an exciting opportunity with an organizational committed to the wellbeing on Iowans.

Job site is located at the Polk County Jail on the Bridges of Iowa Treatment side. It is a full time position. Shifts will be mostly days Monday - Friday. We would like applicants to have one day of flexibility to work a later shift to have appointment times with the clients in a higher level of care. Position starts between 75,000 - 85,000.

Responsibilities

Counseling

· Ensures the safety, care and comfort of guests and visitors

· Leads group and individual mental health counseling sessions

· Reviews, evaluates, and provides feedback on interventions

· Attends daily and weekly Clinical Team meetings

· Performs and documents biopsychosocial assessments

· Assists guests in preparation, coordination, and completion of individual treatment plans

· Ensures completion of program components

· Assists guests in coordinating referral services as needed

· Assists guests in transition and discharge planning

· Coordination with third party stakeholders in guest's care

· Assists in the completion of UA's

Documentation

· Submits daily written documentation of the progress of each assigned guest in the company Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

· Maintains any paper records in accordance with HIPAA, licensure, and State guidelines

· Clinical documentation meets standards appropriate of individual and facility licensure, and those of the Bridge of Iowa's oversight bodies

Training

· Performs all training requirements of continued licensure

· Attends required organizational trainings

· Mentors new employees; explains standards and work procedures

· Demonstrates proper use of equipment

· Exhibits knowledge of practice scope and standards

· Attends required company and in-house meetings and trainings

Collaboration/Consultation

· Maintain consistent and timely communication with the Medical Director and/or Psychiatrist regarding client care, particularly in cases involving complex diagnoses, medication management, risk assessment, or significant changes in client condition.

· Must seek consultation when medical or psychiatric input is critical to treatment planning and client safety. This collaboration ensures integrated care and supports best practices in treatment delivery.

· Maintains professional boundaries, and acts in accordance with professional licensure, and Bridges of Iowa Policies and Procedures

· Exercises independent judgment within the scope of license

Qualifications

· Independently licensed by the Board of Behavioral Health Professionals/Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing in Iowa as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LHMC) or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW). Master's degree in counseling or other psychology/counseling-related field

· Valid Iowa Driver's License

· Pass drug screening and background check prior to finalization of job offer

· Ability to maintain independent license through meeting the Board of Behavioral Health Professionals standards and continued training requirements
