Summary of Work As a Licensed Addiction Counselor with the ND Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, you will provide clinical and therapeutic services to individuals within our correctional facilities. You will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to conduct assessments and referrals, deliver evidence-based programming, facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, and provide crisis interventions and case management services. This role includes working with clients facing a wide range of mental health, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Duties and Tasks In this role, you will provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients and facilitate skills-based therapy as well as evidence-based programming. You will respond to mental health crises through on-call responsibilities and emergency interventions as needed. Participation in clinical staffing department meetings, and housing unit briefings is expected, along with regular consultation with supervisors regarding resident needs and treatment planning. You will manage client cases by coordinating referrals and support services, and you will develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client. The position also involves conducting mental health assessments and determining appropriate levels of care. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant documentation and ensuring that all client records meet licensure standards for substance abuse treatment programs. Minimum Qualifications Addiction Counselor I - Requires a bachelor's degree in Addiction Counseling, Addiction Studies, Social Work, Counseling or Psychology, AND current licensure as an Addiction Counselor by the North Dakota Board of Addiction Counseling Examiners. Starting Salary: $6,067 WITH A SIGN ON BONUS OF $4,000. Addiction Counselor II - Requires a bachelor's degree in Addiction Counseling, Addiction Studies, Social Work, Counseling or Psychology, Licensure as an Addiction Counselor (LAC) by the ND Board of Addition Counseling Examiners, AND two years of experience as a Licensed Addiction Counselor. A Master's Degree in one of the majors listed above will substitute for one year of experience. Only professional-level addiction counselor experience in a private or public facility is qualifying and given credit. Starting Salary: $6,203 WITH A SIGN ON BONUS OF $5,000.
