Library Security Officer - Alabama State University : Job Details

Alabama State University, Levi Watkins Learning Center, invites applications for the position of Security Officer I. Under direct supervision of the evening and weekend managers of the LWLC, the security office will provide security and protection for students, faculty, staff and other persons utilizing the library. The security officer will also assist in security the library facilities, operations, equipment, and LWLC parking areas for the unit. Duties and Responsibilities:Supervise LWLC security personnel. Monitor the library building inside and outside so that law and order are preserved. Deter crimes and the destruction of library materials. Answer call and complaint involving fire and weather safety, misdemeanors, first aid and prepares detailed incident investigative reports. Interview persons with complaint and inquiries and attempt to make proper disposition or direct them to the proper authorities.
