Library Reference Technician (Part Time) - County of York Virginia : Job Details

Position may work at Tabb and Yorktown libraries. Responsible for providing reference assistance to York County Library patrons. Assists patrons with research and activities and independently performs research for reference requests. Instructs patrons in the use of automated catalog, electronic indexes and other reference materials and equipment. Helps in other areas as assigned, such as assisting with programs and creating displays. Shifts range from 10 to 20 hours a week. Must be available to work evening and weekend hours. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and public library experience desired, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of basic library procedures, methods and techniques helpful. Personal computer experience using Microsoft Office Suite and the Internet necessary. Supplemental Information Must be able to work a continual floating schedule as needed.
