Bull Run Library is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Library Page. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring library materials are properly shelved and easily accessible to our patrons. You'll also assist with directional guidance and support special projects that help keep the library running smoothly. About This Role:
  • Shelve materials accurately in alphabetical and numerical order using the Dewy Decimal system.
  • Maintain a neat presentation of the library's collection.
  • Perform page opening/closing duties to include checking in, shelf-reading and loading and unloading the book drop room.
  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Attend training and staff meetings as well as assist in training incoming staff.
  • Perform administrative tasks including processing materials and generating basic reports.
  • Shifting the collection as needed.
  • Transporting and redistributing large quantities of library materials weighing up to 20 lbs.
Minimum Requirements: 8th grade education. Must be at least 16 years old. Preferences:
  • Experience working in the customer service field.
  • Experience accurately filing, both alphabetically and numerically.
  • Scheduling flexibility.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of Library Integrated System (for example, Polaris).
Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business. Work Schedule: This is a part-time, non-exempt 20 hour a week position. Library hours of operation are Monday-Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Thursday-Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hiring Salary Range: $17.99/hr.
