Position Type:Student Support Services Classified/OtherDate Posted:8/20/2025Location:Converse County School District #2Date Available:ASAPClosing Date:Open Until FilledAdditional Information: Show/HideLibrary Clerk28 Hours Per Week185 Days Per Year (9 Month)$15.29 - $15.56 (depending on experience)Purpose StatementThe job of Library Clerk is done for the purpose/s of providing support to school site; establishing and maintaining documents, files, and records; compiling and distributing materials and reports for food services; maintaining clean and sanitary work areas; and responding to inquiries from a variety of both internal and external sources.This job reports to Assigned AdministratorEssential Functions* Administers first aid and prescription medications to students as directed by a health care professional (e.g. insulin, etc.) for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs within established guidelines.* Attends meetings (e.g. department, in-service, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and gathering information required to perform functions.* Collects payments for the purpose of completing transactions and securing funds.* Compiles a wide variety of information (e.g. food sold, money collected, lunch count, etc.) for the purpose of preparing reports or processing requests.* Cooperates with other kitchen workers (e.g. salad table, hot food counter, cashier, etc.) for the purpose of completing activities and delivering services in a timely fashion.* Inputs information (e.g. money spent, food used, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accurate and up-to- date records.* Maintains a variety of documents, files, and records (e.g. financial records, food used, etc.) for the purpose of providing up-to-date information and an historical reference in accordance with established administrative guidelines and legal requirements.* Processes financial information (e.g. cash and checks deposited daily, etc.) for the purpose of complying with District, State, and Federal policies and regulations.* Researches financial discrepancies (e.g. deposit slip not matching money at hand, student payment record not updated, etc.) for the purpose of providing information for addressing department operations.* Responds to stakeholders (e.g. students, parents, staff, etc.) for the purpose of sharing and conveying information necessary to the performance of the job and the effectiveness of the food service program.Other Functions* Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.Job Requirements: Minimum QualificationsSkills, Knowledge and AbilitiesSKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications; operating a cash register; office practices; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: business etiquette; interpersonal communication; and school food-safety practices and procedures.ABILITY is required to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events; gather and/or collate data; and use basic, job- related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. There is a continual opportunity to have some impact on the organization's services.Work EnvironmentThe usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10% sitting, 30% walking, and 60% standing.
