Job Description Summary
The Cataloging and Technical Services Librarian is primarily responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the library catalog. The Librarian is responsible for cataloging all new materials to the library collection as well as removing records for materials that are being removed. The Librarian coordinates the operational functions of all library technical services including materials processing, discards, and donations. Coordinates and develops collection reports for the Director focusing on collection needs and programs budgets as well as annual statistical data reports. This position also coordinates and teaches information literacy to students, faculty, and staff.
Duties
1. Performs catalog editing, records maintenance, and discard functions for library catalog database.
2. Coordinates the operational functions of all library technical services.
3. Coordinates and develops collection reports and statistics.
4. Provides reference and instruction assistance to students and faculty.
5. Serves in the capacity as acting Director, Library Services in the absence of the full-time Director.
6. Positively contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE Statement.
7. Other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements (Applicant must meet all of the minimum requirements)
1. Masters Degree in Library/Information Science;2. Library work experience.3. Work experience in library cataloging or technical services.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Work experience in library cataloging or technical services.2. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.
