Job Description & Requirements** Sign On Bonus $5000 **The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, has an exciting full time opportunity for an Ophthalmic Technician 2 (OT2) in Naples, Florida. The Ophthalmic Technician 2 (OT2) is proficient in the theory, principles, and practice of eye care. Follows best practices of patient safety, hand hygiene, and infection control.Attends educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned.Demonstrates high quality of work through accuracy, timeliness, professionalism, and thoroughness.Meets daily productivity goals. Maintains JCAHPO certifications.Ensures all equipment is calibrated and instrumentation is in proper working order. Participates in assigned clinical research and maintain required certifications.Organizes and stocks rooms for daily clinical activities.Travels to satellite eye centers when necessary.Works evenings and weekends as needed.Completes IVI (intravitreal injection) prep for patients.Facilitates motility exams. Supports Virtual Care encounters and exams. Performs imaging including but not limited to fundus photos, OCTs, and Slit Lamp exams.Assists with training and onboarding clinical support staff.Acts as a super-user for technology implementations, optimizations, and training initiatives.Acts as preceptor and trainer for imaging team members Serves as a lead technician providing oversight to clinical teams when assigned.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.QUALIFICATIONS Education:High School diploma or equivalentRequired Certification and Licensing:Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) required.Experience:Minimum 2 years of relevant experienceThe University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.
