Job Description :

We are a growing Suffolk County, NY Plaintiff Law firm focusing on personal injury and no-fault collections that is currently seeking a full time no-fault collections legal assistant to add to our growing no-fault department. This is a great opportunity that allows you to grow professionally, as we offer mentoring, training, oversight, and collaboration and hold weekly meetings as a practice group. The Legal Assistant will help TonaLaw attorneys provide a superior level of legal representation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process and respond to requests from the American Arbitration Association
  • Timely submit new cases via Simple File and uploads to AAA via the Modria website
  • Rebuttal Requests and follow ups to clients
  • Maintaining a calendar for follow up of retrieval of requested documents
  • Delegating new cases received to team for preparation
  • Quality control review of prepared cases for arbitration
  • Updating file statuses in case management software
  • Assistance with client account audits
  • Correspondence with insurance carriers and clients
  • Request & review of medical records and bills for accuracy
  • Pre-arbitration Settlements and counter offers
  • Review for accuracy of policy documents, PIP payouts and other documents received by the insurance carriers
  • Processing of invoices for payments
  • Processing & document retrieval for EIP cases
  • Updating & organizing the calendar for the attorneys daily hearings

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree (not a must)
  • 2 years no-fault collections experience required
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Customer oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Quick learner
  • Personable
