Leave and Benefits Administrator Location: 2500 East 22nd Street Cleveland, OH 44115 Pay: $28.21/hour Length of Assignment: 3 months Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm (1 hour lunch) The Leave and Benefits Administrator will be responsible for the oversight of Leave and disability administration. Management of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations, Workers Compensation claims, and tuition reimbursement programs. Responsible for continuous improvement of related leave policies, projects, and processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Assists other Total Rewards staff with programming and initiatives. This role is crucial in ensuring that the employees receive the support and benefits they need while maintaining legal compliance. It requires a passion for HR, a knack for managing details, and a commitment to employee well-being, What You'll Be Doing
  • Serves as primary point of contact and provides daily case management for all leaves of absence, ADA reasonable accommodations and disability plans at the College.
  • Manages and administers various types of leaves, including FMLA, non-FMLA medical leaves, personal leaves, faculty Professional Improvement Leaves (PIL), and military leaves.
  • Coordinates the leave process ensuring compliance with College policies and legal requirements.
  • Serves as liaison between employees, managers and third-party administrator for employee leaves of absence to include identification of action items and providing timely status updates to managers.
  • Calculation and submission of employee biweekly timesheet reporting for employees on continuous leaves and calculates STD payments as needed which includes collaboration with Payroll Services, Benefits Specialist, and HRIS for employees transitioning to disability or unpaid leave status.
  • Administers the Leave Donation Program to include maintaining records, annual reporting and processing payments of donated time to eligible employees when applicable.
  • Keep well informed of federal, state, and local labor laws, making sure all leave, ADA, Workers Compensation, and tuition reimbursement policies remain compliant. And, provide interpretation, recommendations and application of changes.
  • Manages posting of required employer notifications as related to FMLA, ADA, OSHA and Workers' Compensation throughout all campuses and electronically as applicable.
  • Responsible for establishing employee eligibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), performing case management while ensuring compliance with related laws, other regulations and guidelines.
  • Serves as point of contact for employees injured on the job and works closely with insurance providers, medical professionals, and legal teams to facilitate claims processing.
  • Collection, review and submission of incident reports and claims, completion of required BWC filings, required reporting, audits, investigations, claims reviews, bill reconciliation and payment, and managing relationship with third party administrators for Workers' Compensation.
  • Monitor the progress of claims and facilitate the return-to-work process.
  • Point of contact for management of lactation rooms collegewide.
  • Recommends, develops, reviews, and implements new policies, programs, processes and procedures, as they relate to leave management.
  • Administers the College remission of fees program.
  • Review and processes payments for all tuition reimbursement programs including the full time non-bargaining Tuition Reimbursement Program and the bargaining unit Supplemental Fund and Education Fund reimbursements. Including eligibility verification, application processing, and reimbursement tracking.
  • Communicate program details and guidelines to employees and answer related inquiries.
  • Assists other Total Rewards staff as necessary including Benefits & Well Being Administrator with well-being programming and initiatives as needed.
  • Manages employee discounts to include working with vendors, employee communications and maintaining Employee Discount KWEB page.
  • Manages internal KWEB pages related to total rewards.
  • Generate reports and provide data analysis related to leaves, accommodations, and benefits programs.
  • Documents policies and procedures.
  • Assists with special projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
