Job Description :

Our client, a prestigious law firm, is seeking an Attorney Development Training Manager for its New York office. This role is responsible for managing the design, delivery, and assessment of attorney training programs. The manager will collaborate with attorneys, consultants, and internal teams across the firm to ensure learning initiatives are strategically aligned with firm objectives. They will also help supervise daily operations and work closely with the senior training manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, execution, and enhancement of attorney training curricula and events.
  • Oversee planning and logistics for learning programs and retreats.
  • Manage vendors, including sourcing, evaluating, and contracting with training providers.
  • Collaborate with the CLE team to ensure course credit alignment.
  • Manage the Business Development Academy in coordination with attorneys and business professionals.
  • Oversee content for the Attorney Learning site and deliver orientation for lateral associates.
  • Monitor bar admission, registration compliance, and approve related expenses.
  • Guide department staff, handle performance evaluations, and support employee development.
  • Recommend and implement operational improvements and strategic learning goals.
  • Ensure departmental alignment with firm policies, goals, and core values.
  • Participate in recruitment, training, and performance management of learning team staff.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of industry learning trends and law firm operations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, learning tools (e.g., WebEx, Zoom), and the ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Solid understanding of budget processes and legal business formats.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexible, proactive, and capable of working independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel and adjust hours as needed.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 7 years of law firm training experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a management role.
