Summary: Provide direction for organizing and directing the daily workflow and monitoring image quality and equipment performance within the ultrasound area. Provides feedback regarding image quality and other aspects of performing ultrasound procedures and address image quality issues. Ensure compliance with policies, protocols, and regulatory / JCAHO requirements in the best interest of CMC. This position reports to the Manager.

Responsibilities: * Perform imaging procedures and produces high quality diagnostic imaging and complete documentation of all activities according to established criteria. * Responsible for adhearing to department /hospital policies, procedures and processes regarding quality improvement, safety, patient flow and other issues. * Responsible for organizing, monitoring and directing workflow on a daily basis within the ultrasound area and external areas that require ultrasound services. * Orders supplies and maintains inventory within PAR levels and establish and maintain within ultrasound the highest level of customer service for both internal and external customers. * Responsible for US quality and documentation; maintaining protocols, overseeing scanning quality of staff, initiate improvement processes and goal setting.

WORK EXPERIENCE

* At least 3 years related experience Req * Previous experience in a leadership capacity in ultrasound Pref EDUCATION * Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience Req * Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Pref LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS * ARDMS Certification Upon Hire Req * Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Upon Hire Req * RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) by ARDMS, RT(VS) (Vascular Sonographer) by ARRT, or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) by (Cardiovascular Credentialing International-CCI)” Upon Hire Req * PS (Pediatric Sonography) by ARDMS Pref JOB PROFILE * Supervisor of a team; spends at least 50% of the time providing people leadership to a team * Typical span of control: Administrative 12-15, Clinical 12-15, Support Services 15-17; e.g. Admin: Fin, IT, Legal, HR, Public Affairs; Support Services: EVS, Security, Engineering, Food Services; * Plans and executes day to day operational needs * Provides guidance, coaching, and feedback * Provides input to employment decisions, and participates in performance reviews * Works within established precedents and practices; receives guidance and oversight from a higher-level manager * Monitors key day to day operational metrics * Provides technical guidance to others on a frequent basis and rounds with employees in the team * Demonstrates an understanding of Children's resource availability MANAGEMENT SKILLS * Use appropriate interpersonal styles to establish effective relationships with customers and internal partners; interact with others in a way that promotes openness and trust and gives them confidence in one's intentions. * Meet patient and patient family needs; take responsibility for a patient's safety, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes; use appropriate interpersonal techniques to resolve difficult patient situations and regain patient confidence. * Develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals. * Set high standards of performance for self and others; assume responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self impose standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed. * Assimilate and apply new job-related information in a timely manner.
