As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will participate in development and production programs integral to X-Bow's success. This position will support and shepherd the design, development, test, and operation of propellant manufacturing systems and novel solid rocket motors. Typical responsibilities for this position include:
- Own and manage the Systems Engineering process and documentation for solid propellant manufacturing system and solid rocket motor programs: architecture and CONOPS development; requirements development and management; development and management of interfaces; verification planning and management.
- Support and manage assembly, test, and operations of propellant manufacturing systems and solid rocket motors. Write and carry out assembly and operational work instructions.
- Manage verification activities; write, manage, review, and digest test and analysis reports as it pertains to the system and its requirements.
- Coordinate between technical disciplines (mechanical, electrical, software, etc.) to identify and resolve technical issues and risks as well as identify, capture, and implement opportunities.
- Embed yourself into design and development activities; understand and influence technical trade-offs and impacts to overall system; work with Integrated Product Team (IPT) and Engineering Leads to drive design cycles.
- Maintain configurations of development and test designs.
- Plan and execute technical reviews (PDR, CDR, etc.); develop entry/exit criteria, own and manage content.
- Provide guidance and counsel to engineering and program management leadership.
- Other SE activities as required for the Program you are supporting.
- Program Management Support
- Provide risk management support.
- Provide configuration management and data management support.
- Provide inputs to Integrated Master Schedule.
- Other Program Support
- Coordinate and run IPTs, TIMs, etc. with leadership, teammates, subcontractors, and customers.
- Opportunity to get hands-on with equipment through assembly and integration activities.

Basic Qualifications
X-Bow is interested in motivated individuals with excellent communication and technical writing skills, proficient in MS Office and common engineering applications. In addition, candidates should have the following:
- Experience developing system level architecture and performing system level trade studies.
- Experience producing system engineering products, such as requirement specifications, interface definitions, verification plans and reports, etc.
- Hands-on experience with hardware, ideally chemical manufacturing hardware like pumps, piping, environmental sensors, etc.
- Experience leading or supporting major program milestone reviews.
- 5+ years of experience as an SE or Project Engineer supporting or leading an IPT or development effort.
Candidates with the following are preferred:
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools such as Cameo.
- Experience with digital collaboration and management tools such as Confluence and Jira.
- Experience with creating or managing a Digital Twin or Digital Threads.
- Experience designing, assembling, testing parts and components, specifically related to chemical or energetic manufacturing products.
Desired Experience
5+ years of experience in a related field is desired. Experience with solid rocket motor/launch vehicle development and manufacturing is a plus.
Education
This job requires a BS in an engineering discipline, ideally in an Aerospace, Mechanical, or Chemical focus. A similar MS is desired.

Primary work will be performed in Luling, TX.
