Akkodis is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer for a client in Grand Rapids, MI or Clearwater, FL

• Salary Range: $130,000/year to $156,000/year; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
• Location: Grand Rapids (or Clearwater, FL)

This is a direct hire role.

For this particular assignment, must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Summary:

The DTS Lead Systems Engineer provides design expertise for the Data Transfer Systems product team, focusing on delivering quality solutions that meet both technical and business needs. This role involves defining system requirements, evaluating design options, conducting trade studies, and ensuring successful integration and verification. The engineer influences both team and individual performance across design, quality, cost, and schedule, requiring strong operational judgment and moderate autonomy.

Qualifications:

• Candidate should have experience in either avionics systems engineering or similar type of field, including automotive, computing, etc.
• Strong knowledge in embedded computing from a design and development perspective.
• Capable of providing technical guidance for systems definition, design, integration, and verification.
• Candidates should have prior exposure to defining architectures and requirements for computing systems and data storage products (preferably aviation, but open to other fields).
• The candidate should have prior experience with systems engineering processes including requirements definition, requirement allocation, requirements management, and requirements verification and validation.
• The candidate should have first-hand experience working in the lab integrating software onto hardware platforms, working with test equipment, the various design assurance disciplines as well as manufacturing.
• The candidate must be able to work closely with customers, to organize and lead the systems portion of design reviews.

Technical Qualifications:

• Strong competency using the DOORs Requirements management tools (candidates without experience with DOORs cannot be considered).
• Ability to read and critique electrical schematics.
• Ability to read and critique software source code.
• Experience in developing software in Python, C, or any other common language.
• Experience with systems modeling tools/language (e.g., Cameo, SysML, MATLAB, etc).

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technical field from an accredited college or university.
