Lead Structural Engineer 1 - Nuclear - Sargent Lundy : Job Details

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days in the office and two days remote per week.

It is a lead design engineering position providing opportunities in structural engineering, guiding a team of engineers, interfacing with clients and other disciplines, and working on projects related to nuclear facilities and upgrades.

Key responsibilities include:

• Applying knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design
• Preparing and reviewing design calculations and specifications
• Designing steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations
• Traveling for design reviews, construction coordination, and field verification

Note: We do not sponsor work authorization in the U.S. for this position.

Required skills and experience:

• BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• 10+ years in design and analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear structures
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, ANSYS)
• Knowledge of design codes (ASCE 7, AISC, ACI)
• Good communication skills
• PE or SE license

Preferred but not required:

• MSCE degree
• On-site construction support experience
