CAE USA Software Engineers are part of the program team which strives to not only meetbut exceed our customers' expectations. Software Engineers support computational systemsarchitecture and system software for real-time simulation applications; create new and modifiedsimulation models using established modeling techniques; and work closely with other engineeringdisciplines Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essentialfunctions. This position is for a software team lead who is self-motivated and leads their team byexemplifying a positive approach, strong work ethic, and taking ownership and accountabilityfor their work. Producing plans for execution of software tasks in support of program requirements withinbudget and schedule constraints Providing accurate and timely status of budget, schedule, and technical issues Managing software engineers assigned to the program, ensuring program milestones aremet within cost and schedule constraints while maintaining focus on quality and customerneeds. Coordinate with other program leadership to ensure appropriate engineers areassigned to the program. Supporting other program leadership as required. Managing all software tasks assigned to the program by planning tasking assignments,tracking tasks to closure, supporting software engineers on a day-to-day basis, andperforming task decomposition as required. Ensuring all program requirements are met, program risks are identified and mitigated, andcompany processes are followed by the software team. Coordinating with other program leads to ensure program completes successfully. Work in a team environment, throughout the lifecycle of the program, using either Waterfallor Agile methodologies Qualifications and Education Requirements BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required A minimum of 10 years Software engineering experience Experience supporting military or defense programs Ability to apply sound engineering principles and develop innovative solutions Demonstrated ability to design, develop, document, test and debug simulation software andsystems that contain logical and mathematical solutions Excellent communication skills including oral, written, interpersonal, and listening Proven success in a fast-paced development environment and possess a willingness to takeownership, accept accountability, and thrive under pressure Ability to provide and receive constructive criticism Flexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work and site travel (CONUS) Active DoD Secret Clearance within a five‐year investigation period Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. Preferred Skills Experience with continuous integration, automated testing frameworks, build management,artifact management preferred MS Windows Linux, Unix, Qt, DDS experience Experience with Aerodynamics design and RF Systems Experience with Flight Simulation and/or Radar Systems Familiarity with aircraft avionics 1553 protocol and simulator experience Experience working in a production environment Knowledge of different testing methodologies (e.g., White/Gray/Black box testing) Prior Military Experience Security ResponsibilitiesMust comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form.Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know.Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government andproprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources. Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
