Job Overview:
We're seeking a talented and highly motivated Lead Propulsion Engineer. This full-time role involves hands-on solid rocket motor development from concept through to flight qualification. Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for propellant development and characterization, rocket motor hardware and ground testing hardware development and ownership, propellant manufacturing process, quality and reliability assurance, and conducting static fire testing.
- Own large business outcomes and experience significant personal and professional growth.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to generate ideas, designs, and improvements.
- Lead propulsion system development, analysis, and testing projects.
- Perform analyses on designs including hand calculations, CAD, and FEA.
- Travel to testing ranges as required on testing days.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural, or Chemical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in Solid Propulsion Rocket Motor Design.
- Experience with propellant mixing and oversight of the mixing process.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or NX.
- Strong ability to design for manufacturing.
Preferred Skills:
- Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural, or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong background in chemical engineering and manufacturing.
- Extensive experience in solid rocket propulsion development.
- Background in rocket and missile design and development.
