This Physical Therapist role has an immediate leading opportunity for our client's organization.

Our client provides services for a variety of patients ranging from children to our senior populations, post-surgical to non-surgical, hospital, and home health. As a Physical Therapist, you'll work closely with patients to improve their movement and manage pain. Physical Therapists are a critical part of rehabilitation, treatment, and prevention for patients with injuries or chronic issues. Some job duties include: assessing the patient's health history, diagnosing their functions and movements, and developing and implementing a specialized care plan for their benefit.

Salary

$39.00 - $45.00 per hour (D.O.E. and Certifications)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Physical Therapist will be responsible and accountable for the direct care of patients. This position requires a licensed, qualified physical therapist who meets all educational and licensing requirements as provided in Federal and State Law. (42 CFR 484.4; 42 CFR 485.705; W.S. 33-25-101 through 115.) The Physical Therapist will work closely with other members of the Physical Therapy Department and will assist in supervising the Physical Therapy Assistants, Therapy Techs, Students, and Volunteers as appropriate. It is understood that the job duties listed below are representative of the position, are not all-inclusive, and may be supervised by a number of different Gottsche staff members.

DEPARTMENT - SUPERVISOR

Physical Therapy - Reports to the Executive Director with Oversight by the Medical Director and Executive Director

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluates patients through medical records review as appropriate, utilizes appropriate evaluation techniques and clinical observation
  • Applies skills learned during academic training, educational programs, and practical experience to evaluate patient/family needs and to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals to include discharge planning.
  • Demonstrates competency in patient assessment, goal setting, and development and implementation of treatment plans to meet these goals. Maintains appropriate documentation according to policy. Evaluates effectiveness of plan and modifies and/or terminates as indicated.
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills when interacting with families, physicians, patients and others involved in a patient's care to promote an environment of cooperation and respect. Provides sensitivity to those aspects of human behavior which affect the balance of the working environment. Initiates appropriate behavior to affect change.
  • Provides relevant information at meetings such as team and family conferences, home health conferences, rehab clinic meetings and others as necessary.
  • Maintains current knowledge of therapy techniques appropriate to patients via the attendance of in-service classes and the appropriate amount of continuing education courses as required for licensure for the Physical Therapy Licensing Board. The therapist will then share the knowledge with other staff in the form of informational discussions or as an in-service.
  • Assigns appropriate treatments or portions thereof to therapy assistants and aides, assess the accuracy, thoroughness and appropriateness of the care they provide and then provide feedback to the Department Head.
  • May be asked to act as a preceptor to therapy students, therapy assistant students and other students and provide feedback to the students and academic directors who are responsible for the students' clinical education.
  • Seeks necessary information and input from staff, physicians and other health care professionals to ensure ongoing appropriate patient care.
  • In the absence of the Department Head, assumes responsibility for patient assignment and problem solving for patient care and facility needs.
  • Possesses the ability to implement and assess quality assurance and utilization review programs to evaluate policy and treatment effectiveness.
  • Has knowledge in the use of therapy devices including exercise table, fitness equipment, assistive devices, wheelchairs, pulleys, weights, and other equipment common to the practice of Physical Therapy.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of safety in all aspects of patient care.
  • Performs other duties related to the position as needed, job duties subject to change as the department evolves and changes.
  • Marketing of self and clinic as well as upholding a positive community reputation.
  • Works with the hospital for in-patient therapy care in accordance with hospital policies and guidelines
  • Participates in HIPAA training and awareness programs and abides by all privacy and security rules as required by Federal Law under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Currently licensed in the State of Wyoming or eligible for licensure
  • Certified in CPR
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and excellent computer skills
  • Exceptional ability to work with employees under fast-paced working conditions
  • Must meet all requirements of Gottsche's automobile insurance carrier
  • Ability to attend educational training on billing, insurance, reimbursement, Medicare, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned
