Job Summary and Qualifications: Serves as a working Lead Housekeeper. Under minimal supervision maintains premises in a clean and orderly manner. Applies skills appropriate for the position with the ability to effectively communicate policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood by fellow employees. Specific elements and essential functions include: filling out injury occurrence reports, working with employees when staffing requires so, conducting in-service training and staff huddle, handing out assignments, monitoring and being responsible for all work assigned to staff for a particular shift, completing inspections of assigned areas and Black Light inspections as directed by Supervisor, assisting in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees, assisting in monitoring and providing suggestions for increased service or productivity based on daily census, assisting with monitoring classroom set ups, supply usage and restocking of supply deliveries, performing laundry services for curtains, mops, rags and proper sanitization of washer, assisting in orienting, training and coaching of staff, assisting with increasing patient satisfaction scores, ability to interact with other hospital staff members, visitors, and patients in a friendly, cooperative manner, actively participating in Departmental Safety Committee and Employee Engagement Committee, responsible for the removal of Hazardous Waste from Satellite Storage areas, familiarity with operation of heavy duty/electrical cleaning equipment, monitoring and dispatching requests for STAT discharge room cleaning, performing day to day housekeeping assignments in addition to lead duties, performing basic cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods, dusting horizontal surfaces, emptying, wiping and relining wastebaskets, damp wiping disinfecting all furniture, cleaning and polishing metal and porcelain fixtures in bathrooms, dust mopping and damp mopping floors, spot cleaning walls and windows, polishing metal surfaces, replenishing paper and soap supplies, stripping bed linens to perform discharge cleaning, performing discharge cleaning as needed, using a safety ladder to remove and replace cubicle curtains, performing precaution room cleaning as needed, vacuuming carpets, spot cleaning as needed, transporting soiled linen to collection point, measuring and mixing bleach and other cleaning solutions, assisting in cleaning up of spills as needed, maintaining assigned equipment for cleanliness and recommending repairs as needed, observing and reporting the need for repairs to furniture, building and fixtures, in case of fire or other internal disaster, assisting in evacuating patients, in case of a community disaster, assisting nursing as needed, performing all other tasks as assigned.

What qualifications you will need: High School or GED Diploma.
