Your Role and Responsibilities
The Lead System Architect will have extensive experience in designing, installing, integrating, testing, and accepting new HPC systems, as well as maintaining and upgrading existing systems. The role involves end-to-end design, implementation, and optimization of HPC systems to meet specific computational needs. Periodic travel and after-hours work may be required for emergencies and scheduled on-call duties.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years' experience in Linux systems administration
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a related field, with 2+ years of systems engineering experience, or 5 years' experience in HPC architecture
- Hands-on experience with HPC architecture, storage, file systems, InfiniBand, security, and compute architecture
- Knowledge of HPC hardware components, including processors, memory, network fabrics, and interconnects
- US Citizenship required; Public Trust clearance can be obtained after hire
Preferred Skills
- Experience with HPC software stacks like compilers, job schedulers, and libraries
- Knowledge of storage management and optimization, RAID configurations
- Experience with system administration and cluster management tools (e.g., LSF, Slurm, PBS)
- Experience with distributed file systems such as Lustre, Ceph, or GPFS
