Job DescriptionJob Description
Symmetrio is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer based in the greater Chicago, IL area on behalf of a long-standing organization known for delivering advanced diagnostic imaging solutions—including CT, MRI, X-ray, and ultrasound. This company provides sales, refurbishment, and end-to-end service for high-end imaging systems across multiple manufacturers. This is not a desk job — we're looking for a hands-on leader who can jump in alongside engineers, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure outstanding technical service for hospitals and imaging centers.
The ideal candidate brings OEM-specific field service experience (preferably Siemens and/or GE) and thrives in a customer-facing, high-responsibility role. You'll manage a regional team of engineers, contribute to installs and repairs, and ensure consistent service delivery across mobile and fixed imaging environments.
This is a full-time, onsite role with approximately 20% travel. It offers a competitive salary in the $120,000–$140,000 range, depending on experience, along with full benefits. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Support and supervise a field service team handling MRI (Siemens ), CT, X-ray, and ultrasound equipment.
- Assist daily with technical work: installations, ramping, shimming, troubleshooting, and site support.
- Fill in for field engineers when coverage is needed — field-readiness is non-negotiable.
- Deliver prompt technical assistance to customers and internal engineers; respond to escalations confidently.
- Coordinate service operations across mobile and fixed sites, ensuring adherence to OEM standards.
- Implement service metrics (PM compliance, uptime, response time) and manage scheduling via field tools.
- Maintain strong relationships with hospital leadership and clinicians; act as the face of service quality.
- Ensure proper use and tracking of parts, tools, vehicles, and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with leadership on team capacity, site support planning, and service strategy.
Requirements
- Siemens MRI and/or CT training strongly ; GE training highly valued.
- Minimum 7 years in field service engineering with progressive hands-on experience.
- Experience ramping, shimming, and troubleshooting MRI systems in the field.
- Demonstrated leadership — either as a team lead, senior engineer, or formal manager.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent military/technical training.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and networking systems in imaging environments.
- Willingness to travel across Illinois and beyond as needed (approx. 20–30%), with some on-call flexibility.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
Benefits
- Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
- Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)
- Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
