Will work as part of a team made of Project Managers, Construction Managers, Civil and Electrical Engineers. Will engage with stakeholders to define Protection and Control requirements specific to projects which may be new (greenfield) or existing (brownfield). Will work on multiple projects simultaneously. Responsible for conceptual relay one-line diagrams, integration one-line diagrams, communication diagrams, System Protection Requirements documents and Detailed Design RFP. Familiar with and able to create a Protection and Control Bill of Material and assist with procurement of equipment.Education & Experience RequiredBachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology; Master's degree preferredProfessional engineering license preferredA minimum of 8 years of technical experience in protection engineering or related fieldExpert knowledge of all aspects of engineering & design, national and international standards, and compliance requirements associated with power system protection.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the review and approval of a detailed design provided by an external engineering firm to ensure all protection system standards and designs meet applicable company, local, state, and national codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NESC, FERC, NERC, NPCC, NYISO, ISO-NE, and NY PSC). Responsible for the review and accuracy of materials lists. Responsible to ensure that the design meets the intent of the scope of the project.Consult and guide for project team on protection engineering for electric transmission and substation system protection projects to ensure system reliability and safety.
