Position Overview
As a Lead Engineer at Essen Health Care, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our technology strategy and driving the development of scalable healthcare solutions. You'll work at the intersection of healthcare and technology, leading initiatives that directly impact patient care and clinical operations.
Responsibilities
Engineering Oversight & Technical Leadership
Provide technical oversight and architectural guidance across multiple engineering teamsDefine and maintain technical standards, best practices, and architectural patternsLead technical design reviews and provide constructive feedback on architecture decisionsDrive technical excellence through code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharingIdentify and mitigate technical risks across projects and initiativesChampion engineering excellence and mentor team members in technical best practicesTechnology Strategy & Innovation
Partner with CTO to develop and execute technology roadmap aligned with business goalsEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic adoption opportunitiesDrive architectural decisions that enable scalability, reliability, and maintainabilityLead proof-of-concept initiatives for new technologies and approachesCollaborate with product teams to ensure technical feasibility of proposed featuresBalance technical debt management with new feature developmentData & Analytics Leadership
Architect data infrastructure solutions that support analytics and reporting needsDesign scalable data pipelines and ETL processes for healthcare dataEnsure data security and compliance with healthcare regulationsGuide implementation of analytics tools and dashboardsChampion data-driven decision making across engineering teamsCollaborate with data science teams on machine learning initiativesQualifications
Experience
Minimum 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4 years in senior technical leadership rolesProven track record of architecting and delivering large-scale, complex healthcare systemsDemonstrated experience leading and mentoring engineering teamsStrong history of successful technical project delivery in regulated environmentsExperience with healthcare data systems and EMR integrationsTechnical Expertise
Expert-level proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworksDeep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architectureStrong background in cloud platforms (Azure)Experience with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR)Expertise in database design and optimizationKnowledge of security best practices and HIPAA complianceProficiency in CI/CD practices and DevOps methodologiesSystem Design & Architecture Experience
Experience designing and implementing distributed systemsTrack record of building scalable, cloud-native applicationsHistory of successful database architecture and optimizationExperience with microservices architecture and API designBackground in security architecture and compliance implementationsSalary: $180,000-$250,000
