Lead Data Scientist - IBM : Job Details

Lead Data Scientist, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted): Foster organization-wide stakeholder engagement to understand and prioritize pain points across all issues faced by the business function. Coordinate efforts to identify opportunities for leveraging company and external data to drive understanding of issues, to surface new insights and to fuel potential solutions. Orchestrate data mining and analysis to extract patterns and understand relationships. Evaluate effectiveness of data sources, efficiency of data gathering techniques, and drive prioritization accordingly. Lead team in applying Machine Learning/AI (Artificial Intelligence) techniques to build models as it relates to business function and associated actions. Assess relevance, quality, reliability, and maintainability of the candidate models and decide on selection of the best ones for implementation and deployment. Communicate key ideas and results to stakeholders/business decision makers. Drive team efforts on visualization and AI explainability. Coordinate the work of user experience designers, software engineers, data scientists, and consultants to implement the models in the production environment, deploy associated automation, and deliver the desired outcomes. Lead development of strategy, processes, and tools to monitor data and model performance long term. Utilize Python, Tableau, SQL, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, Kubernetes, API. Required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master's degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Big Data Analyst, Senior Business Analyst, or related.
