Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Scientist to oversee and drive data science projects that align with our business goals. This role involves managing and mentoring a talented team, leading the development of cutting-edge data models, and ensuring ethical data practices. You will also be at the forefront of creating generative AI healthcare solutions that will revolutionize healthcare operations and enhance member experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and Development: Continuously explore the latest advancements in AI and machine learning to enhance existing models and create innovative methodologies.
  • AI Model Deployment & Monitoring: Deploy AI models into production, monitor their performance, and ensure compliance with governance and regulatory standards.
  • Innovation Projects: Lead pilot projects to test and implement new AI technologies across the organization.
  • Data Analysis: Extract and interpret meaningful insights from complex datasets to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Machine Learning Model Development: Design, develop, and train machine learning models using various algorithms, including supervised, unsupervised, deep learning, and reinforcement learning.
  • Agentic Workflows: Develop workflows utilizing AI agents for autonomous task execution to enhance operational efficiency.
  • RAG Pattern Utilization: Employ retrieval-augmented generation techniques to improve language model performance and knowledge application.
  • Model Fine-Tuning: Fine-tune pre-trained models for specific tasks to ensure they meet performance metrics effectively.
  • Data Preparation: Perform thorough data cleaning and preprocessing to ensure high-quality inputs for modeling.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and analysts, to integrate AI solutions into our systems.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior data scientists and lead initiatives to foster team development.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation of models and methodologies, and effectively communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Business Alignment: Partner with various teams to build ML models that contribute to improved operational metrics, such as Star ratings and care gap reduction.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field; PhD is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of data science experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Python and R, and experience with TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
  • Analytical Skills: Deep understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.
  • Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with tools such as Hadoop and Spark.
  • Data Visualization: Proficiency in visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure AI Studio is a plus.
  • Natural Language Processing: Familiarity with NLP and computer vision techniques is advantageous.
