Position Details Position Information Job Title Lead Admissions Specialist Department LEVL - Enrollment Services Employment Status FT Full-Time Full Time/Part Time Full Time Benefits Yes Months per Year 12 Job DescriptionSUMMARYThe Lead Admissions Specialist works as a member of the Admissions and Records team and reports directly to the Dean of Enrollment Management. The Lead Admissions Specialist is responsible for providing oversight on all processes related to admission application intake and will work to ensure that general college information is provided accurately to students in a standardized fashion in-person, through email, and over the phone. The development of a high level of knowledge regarding South Plains College's academic and technical offerings as well as the College's student services will be essential. This position requires a professional appearance and demeanor as well as strong communication and computer skills. High energy and a positive approach to working with students and colleagues is a must. The individual must be customer service oriented and must work well in a team context. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Greets and assists students with general college information. Assists students with the college admission process. Directs the processing of admission applications through CRM Recruit and Ellucian Colleague. Assists with student record keeping, ensuring that support staff accurately scan physical documents & records, and are prepared for student registration and end-of-term processes. Assists with and provides oversight of student demographic changes and other updates of student data. Assists with and oversee incoming student inquiries, drop requests, withdrawals, and any administrative drops. Assists with and coordinates the posting of TSI scores and other college readiness information (e.g., College Prep). Supports and assists in directing departmental efforts to ensure this information is uniformly entered correctly into the College's student information system, and that all support staff at all locations are following appropriate data entry procedures. Maintains the confidentiality of student and course records. Assists with new student orientation & graduation processes. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of Enrollment Management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has supervisory responsibilities. - A minimum of an Associate's Degree (A.A., A.S., or A.A.S) from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Excellent computer and data management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- At least two years of work experience directly related to the position.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS Be able to communicate and effectively present information in one-to-one situations with students, visitors, faculty and other employees of the organization. Possess excellent public speaking skills and ability to project a positive image for the college. LANGUAGE, WRITING AND REPORTING SKILLS Be able to read and comprehend simple and complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Also be able to write simple correspondence and reports. Ability to write well, employing accepted principles of business communications, is preferred. COMPUTER SKILLS Experience necessary in applying current computer technology and software applications to essential responsibilities, duties, and tasks. Knowledge and experience with working with computers and software in a Windows environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office is essential. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement including the use of whole numbers, common fractions, percentages, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Be able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS Be able to work with a wide variety of people and participate as a team member to accomplish multiple projects and goals. Also be able to meet and greet the public in a positive and productive way. ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS Be able to organize tasks and activities essential to performing the specific duties and responsibilities of this job.
