Position Summary:This position provides a two-pronged approach to the day-to-day operations of the center and activities, including leading activities and specific tasks that meet the environmental and functional requirements of the adult day center. A high-level of accountability is required in planning, coordinating, and implementing programs that meet participants' needs and daily interests. The functional requirements meet the compliance guidelines of the center and program. This position reports to the ADS Manager.Education & Certification Requirements:•High school diploma or equivalent •Food Handler Certification (must obtained certification within 30-days of hire)•Must be able to read and write English•Current working knowledge of federal and state regulations•Certified in CPR (must obtain certification within 30-days of hire)Preferred Qualification:•Clinical certification is desired, i.e., CNA•Experience working in the healthcare field is a plus•Certified Food Protection Certification (CFPM) is a plus•Computer knowledge and skills are preferredExperience & Training Requirements:•Minimum of two years performing the essential functions of the job is required•Preferred 4+ years of experience working with Seniors, individuals with disabilities, or related fields.•Excellent multi-tasking skills.Desired Outcomes:•Improve the quality of activities and programs•Increase cognitive learning and engagement for the participants•Achieve the highest quality care for participantsEssential Job Requirements & Duties:•Work collaboratively with other Lead Activity Aides to ensure compliance and coordination of daily activities•Ensure that daily charting is documented in accordance with the statutory guidelines•Attend in-service training sessions as required. Maintain the required hours of training•Maintain organized, clean, and activity supplies, furniture, and storage areas in the ADS room at all times.•Ensure that there is an ongoing monthly assessment to ensure that activities are engaging and meet the abilities of the adult participants•Responsible for encouraging resident participation•Meet daily with Aides to ensure duties are assigned •Communicate in a positive and cooperative manner with staff, management, participants, and family members•Conduct outreach for our ADS Program to support in increasing client participation and enrollment•Ability to be creative, develop new program ideas, and work with minimum supervision•Ensure staff is informed and review plan of care of new participants.•Develop a daily schedule to ensure clients are timely and properly taken to the restroom •Share responsibilities with other Lead Activity Aide(s)•Stive to meet the mission of the program•Participate in developing improved programming and processes•Document all incidents as required and in accordance with policy and procedures•Promote best practices•Perform excellent customer skills•Maintain current certifications•Perform duties as assigned that commensurate with the position Working Conditions: (The unavoidable, externally imposed conditions under which the work must be performed, and which create hardship for the incumbent including the frequency and duration of occurrence of physical demands, environmental conditions, demands on one's senses and mental demands.)
