Laundry Attendant - Lexima : Job Details

Laundry Attendant Job Summary We're seeking an energetic, dependable Laundry Attendant to support the operations of our hospitality, healthcare, or laundromat facility. You'll be responsible for sorting, washing, pressing, folding, and preparing linens, uniforms, or customer garments using commercial equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols are essential. Key Responsibilities

• Sort laundry (linens, towels, guest linens, uniforms, clothing) by color, size, fabric, and wash instructions.
• Pretreat stains and carefully inspect items before washing.
• Operate commercial washers, dryers, steamers, ironers, and folding machines, adhering to safety protocols.
• Fold, press, and organize laundered items neatly and promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness of the laundry area, including lint traps, floors, and work surfaces.
• Track inventory of detergents, fabric softeners, sewing kits, etc., and notify management of shortages.
• Monitor equipment for performance issues and report maintenance needs.
• Provide courteous customer service, addressing questions, complaints, or special requests as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; hands-on experience in laundry services or housekeeping valued.
• Familiarity with commercial-grade laundry equipment and stain treatment methods.
• Physical stamina: ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20-50 pounds safely.
• Strong attention to detail, timemanagement, and organizational skills.
• Basic math (for measuring supplies or managing token/change systems).
• Good communication skills and a customer-friendly demeanour.
• Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends or holidays, as required.

Working Conditions

• Typically performed in a laundry room or back-of-house setting, often away from guests/customers.
• Monotonous tasks (e.g. folding fitted sheets) but manageable once routines are learned.
• Temperature exposure (e.g. heat or steam environment) and contact with cleaning chemicals
