The laundry aide must ensure all items are handled with care and returned to the correct resident, while maintaining a clean and sanitary laundry room environment. **Essential Position: This position is considered Essential. The incumbent must report to work regardless of extreme weather or other conditions.** Salary: $17.00 per hour FLSA: Non-Exempt Schedule: Full-time; Weekends and Holidays REQUIREDRequired Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to meet acceptable background check standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as appropriate.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Department Responsibilities:
  • Performs closet audits, ensuring that residents' closets have the correct name on the clothing and that the closet is organized.
  • Properly sorts, washes and dries personal clothing following the approved laundry procedures.
  • Folds, counts, and stacks personal clothing following approved laundry procedures.
  • Collects soiled personal clothing and distributes clean personal clothing.
  • Transports supplies, including clean and soiled personal clothing, to the appropriate storage and collection areas.
  • Provides quality customer service by providing one-on-one attention to detail.
  • Routinely inspects personal clothing for wear and tear, identifies worn and torn personal items, and provides replacement items from donations.
  • Label and conduct inventory on new resident's clothing and current residents' new items.
  • Receive notifications of missing items and attempt to locate them as per procedure.
  • Maintains the commercial and residential laundry rooms clean, orderly, and sanitary.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisors.

  • Support the Association in maintaining a safe working environment by following departmental safety procedures.
  • Exposure to chemicals, dust, moving objects, loud noise, slippery services, wetness, potential electrical hazards, and potential burns, may require special clothing/safety equipment. Occasionally exposed to blood, body tissue/fluids, and hazardous materials. Rarely exposed to high elevation or radiation.
  • Must be able to see objects closely, as in reading, continuously. Able to see objects far away continuously.
  • Able to discriminate color continuously. Able to perceive depth continuously.
  • Must hear normal sounds with some background noise, as in answering a telephone continuously. Able to distinguish sounds, such as voice patterns, continuously.
  • Able to push/pull objects continuously using maximum effort. Able to perform motor skills such as bending, twisting, turning, turning, kneeling, climbing stairs, reaching out/up, wrist turn/torque, grasping, pinching, finger manipulation, feeling perception, fast response, continuously, and occasionally squatting.
  • Must be able to perform tasks that require hand-eye coordination continuously and perform body coordination of the upper and lower body continuously.
  • Must be able to give and receive verbal communications continuously. Able to read written communications continuously. Able to compose written communication occasionally.
  • Must be able to remain on feet up to 8 hours consecutively, up to 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to concentrate on fine detail with some interruptions continuously.
  • Must be able to remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others during the course of the day continuously; able to remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others during the course of the day continuously; able to remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others over long periods frequently.
