Laundry Aide - Grant Regional Health Center : Job Details

TITLE: Laundry Aide DEPARTMENT: Laundry POSITION STATUS/HOURS: Part-time, 24 hours/week, .60 FTE. Scheduled hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. From 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Flexibility to work additional hours as needed. Benefit Eligible Position! SUMMARY: The Laundry Aide is responsible for ordering and maintaining linen inventory. Also, to keep all clean linen carts fully stocked in each department. Further responsible to clean all in-house soiled linen and responsible for pick-up of soiled linens from the soiled linen chutes and placing into soiled linen carts to be shipped out to offsite linen service. The Laundry Aide is responsible to order new replacement linens when required. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide laundry related duties within health center to include but not limited to: • Maintain laundry supplies • Receive laundry delivered from outside sources • Order replacement laundry from outside sources • Prepare laundry for & deliver to patient care areas • Document linen poundage sent to each department • Collect soiled linens to be sent out for cleaning • Clean soiled laundry and clothing not set to outside facility • Maintain all stock linen carts and the linen department QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be high school graduate or equivalent. • Previous professional laundry experience preferred but not essential. • Applicant must possess good work ethics, communication skills, and personal hygiene. • Must possess the ability to lift and/or transfer a minimum of 50 pounds; manual dexterity, and self-motivation necessary.
