Phaxis is looking for a qualified Contract School-Based Physical Therapist (PT) to join our team in schoolslocated in Pelham, NY, and the surrounding areas for the current academic year. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a center-based special education program dedicated to providing comprehensive support for children with Down syndrome, Autism,and other developmental disabilities in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

• Title: Contract School-Based Physical Therapist (PT)
• Location: Pelham, NY
• Caseload: Preschool students enrolled in special education programs
• Schedule: 30 hours per week
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
• Duration: School Year
• Pay Range: $40-$50/hr

• Provide and direct physical therapy services to preschool students in accordance with their IEP mandates.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs.
• Adhere to the principles and practices of physical therapy, following APTA policies/procedures and state regulations.
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, school psychologists, and classroom staff to achieve positive treatment outcomes.
• Work effectively with parents, teaching staff, and other professionals involved in the child's care to develop and monitor IEP services.
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately and in a timely manner (daily session notes, quarterly progress reports, annual reviews, etc.).
• Participate in meetings and consultations with education staff and the multidisciplinary team regarding each child's needs and progress.
• Provide input into the fabrication of assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and orthotic appliance needs.
• Comply with federal and state physical therapy regulations.

• Valid New York State Physical Therapy License
• Master's Degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• Experience working with children is required; pediatric PT experience is preferred. New graduates with pediatric experience will also be considered.
• Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required.
