TRANSFER LISTTHE POSITION: The City of Portland's Bureau of Development Services is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work as part of the Plan Review Team within the Plan Review & Permitting Services division. They are responsible for and perform reviews of construction plans for heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, refrigeration, exhaust and smoke control systems for compliance with state building codes and other applicable city, state, and federal regulations. The Mechanical Engineer works independently, but consistently with team members; uses initiative, exercises sound and professional problem-solving judgment; prioritizes responsibilities, and multi-tasks while adhering to timelines and customer service expectations. Work includes:Reviewing of the building envelope, mechanical systems and lighting for compliance with energy conservation requirements.
