Position Summary: The Laser operator position will be responsible for setting up and operating the CNC Mitsubishi lasers and/or CNC Bystronic lasers to produce finished products. They will adhere to all Morbark safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines, standards, policies and procedures LASER OPERATOR - 12 HOUR ROTATING SHIFT AND WEEKEND WORKWe are offering a 12-hour/rotating week shift and weekend-only position for the following positions in our Machine Shop:Mitsubishi CO2 LaserBystronic Fiber LaserThe shift premiums are as follows:12 hour rotating shift - $2/hour for day shift position and $3 per hour for night shift position.Weekend shift is Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and includes paid lunch break and $2/hour shift premium. Work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours each week.Essential Functions of the Job:
- Ability to set up and operate Mitsubishi and/or Bystronic Lasers.
- Ability to use measuring equipment such as dial calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc.
- Read blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions and to plan operational sequences.
- Keep the workplace safe, clean and organized.
- Ensure proper placement of tools at the end of each shift.
- Responsibilities may change; be added or deleted to support the needs of the department.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
- Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers in addition to understanding fractions and decimals).
- Possess the ability to read and understand both written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to read basic prints/schematics.
- Must be able to read and use tape measures.
- Proficient in shop mathematics and layout techniques is preferred.
Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. 2 years of continuous, related work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- 1-year minimum setup and operation of Mitsubishi and/or Bystronic lasers is required.
