Large Machine Operator - TSG - The Sheridan Group : Job Details

Sheridan MN is seeking an experienced, dedicated and detail-oriented Large Machine Operator to join our dynamic team at our Brainerd, MN facility. In this vital role, you will be a key player on our 2nd shift being responsible for the set up and operation of large bindery equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Learn to set-up, run, and maintain all large bindery equipment as assigned including: Cutters, Folders, Stitcher, BF Case-In-Line, Kolbus Perfect Binder and KM-600 Perfect Binder.
• Read and understand work orderverifying correctbind type,bulk, trim size, marginsand run lengths.
• Set up machine and perform qualitybinding that meets expectations,leadby example.
• Follow daily running order provided by Scheduling Team.
• Maintain highthroughputby performing quick and efficient make-readiesandjobchangeovers.
• Inspect forquality defectsensuringquality standards are achieved.
• Perform preventative maintenance, general cleaning and upkeep of machine and auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to machine and auxiliary equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED required
• Two years + of experience on similar binding equipment
• Three years of Bindery experience
• Ability to read andcomprehendinstructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules,operatingand maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills, add/subtract, and ability to use a measuring device.
• Basic problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graphic arts and/or technical school background

Physical Requirements:

• Safety shoes and hearing protection required.
• Prolonged periods standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
• Willing to work all shifts.
