Job DetailsJob DetailsWe are in search of a dynamic and experienced Land Use & General Government Advice Attorney to join our esteemed team. This position is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned professional to apply their knowledge and expertise in the legal industry, specifically in the areas of land use, government advice, the Brown Act, the Political Reform Act, non-profit organizations, mediation, and legal writing. The successful candidate will be a part of a vibrant team and will play a crucial role in shaping the legal strategies and policies within our organization.Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal advice on land use and general government matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
- Interpret and apply the Brown Act and the Political Reform Act, advising on their implications and ensuring adherence within the organization.
- Offer legal support to non-profit organizations, addressing their unique legal needs and challenges.
- Engage in mediation processes, utilizing excellent negotiation skills to resolve disputes effectively and amicably.
- Draft, review, and revise a wide range of legal documents, contracts, and agreements, utilizing superior legal writing skills.
- Collaborate with various departments within the organization, offering legal advice and guidance on a range of issues.
- Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations that may affect the organization and its operations, advising accordingly.
- Represent the organization in legal proceedings, defending its interests effectively and professionally.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the State Bar and in good standing.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience as an attorney, with a focus on land use, general government advice, the Brown Act, the Political Reform Act, non-profit organizations, mediation, and legal writing.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in interpreting and applying the Brown Act and the Political Reform Act.
- Proven experience providing legal support to non-profit organizations.
- Strong mediation and negotiation skills, with a track record of resolving disputes effectively.
- Excellent legal writing skills, with the ability to draft, review, and revise a wide range of legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Strong research skills, with the ability to stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations that may affect the organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments within the organization.
- High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of the organization.
