Position Title: Licensed Land Surveyor

Location: Glen Rock, New Jersey

Work Type: On-site, 5 days/week

Compensation: $120K–$125K base (flexible up to $150K for candidates who check every box)

Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus; strong years could result in $20K–$25K, slower years around $2K

Total Employees: 30

Department Size: 2 existing non-licensed surveyors (will eventually report into this role)

Reports To: Head of Operations and CEO

Overview of the Role

This is a high-level opportunity for a Licensed Land Surveyor who is confident, hands-on, and eager to grow into leading the surveying department. The role involves diverse surveying projects across multifamily residential and commercial developments. Ideal for someone who has either a well-rounded background or is currently siloed and looking to expand their experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute land surveying projects including boundary and topographic surveys
  • Oversee a field crew of two, providing direction and final decisions
  • Work in a fast-paced, hands-on role involving varied daily tasks
  • Be heavily involved in the global aspects of surveying from field to office coordination
  • Occasionally contribute to stream studies

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Licensed Land Surveyor in New Jersey (required)
  • Minimum of 5 years of land surveying experience
  • Confident in independent decision-making
  • Strong team collaboration experience
  • Comfortable in a smaller, family-run business environment

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Land Surveyor license in New York
  • Bachelor's degree (not required)
