With a strong reputation for excellence and reliability, Aussie Structural Engineers work closely with builders, developers, architects, and local councils to deliver projects that not only meet regulatory requirements but also enhance urban infrastructure. From concept design through to final certification, the team is involved in every stage of the project, ensuring high-quality results, timely delivery, and superior client satisfaction.
The client is seeking a qualified and experienced Land Economist to join their multidisciplinary team. This role is vital in ensuring the economic viability, efficient utilisation, and sound management of land and property assets within the context of their engineering projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth land use and economic analysis, preparing valuations, and supporting the commercial aspects of property development strategies.
The Land Economist will also liaise with key stakeholders including clients, councils, engineers, builders, and contractors to support the planning, cost estimation, and implementation of various development proposals. Your work will directly influence project decisions, cost planning, and development feasibility across our diverse range of engineering and construction projects.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
·A bachelor's degree in a related field. At least five years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
·Minimum one year of experience in land and property economics or property valuation.
·Sound knowledge of property development, valuation methodologies, and economic analysis techniques.
·Familiarity with construction and engineering processes in residential and commercial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
· Research and advise on the economic administration and use of land and property for project planning.
·Develop and implement commercial sales and leasing proposals.
·Provide asset and portfolio management advice for land and property developments.
·Evaluate land and property assets considering market demand, trends, and condition.
·Examine properties and provide formal valuation assessments.
·Mediate and give expert valuation evidence for legal or arbitration matters.
·Contribute to drafting, structural design, and stormwater design per Australian Standards.
·Conduct site visits and inspections to assess ongoing construction quality and progress.
·Collaborate with structural, stormwater, and geotechnical engineering teams to deliver projects efficiently.
·Estimate construction costs, prepare tenders, and support budget monitoring activities.
·Liaise with clients through site inspections and project meetings.
·Support the drafting of specifications, cost plans, and scheduling for construction programs.
Skills & Attributes Required:
· Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to economic and spatial detail.
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
·Proficiency in interpreting construction plans, architectural drawings, and engineering specifications.
·Knowledge of local planning policies, land development regulations, and property law.
·Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate outcomes under pressure.
