Job Description THE DEPARTMENT: The information Technology Department is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of a secure technology infrastructure to support the Product, People, Promotion, Place and profit areas of Helzberg Diamonds. It accomplishes this through the design, development and deployment of automated systems to meet the information and process needs of each major line of business: human resources, merchandise, marketing, finance, stores, and E-Commerce. In addition to these lines of business applications, the IT organization is responsible for the collection and correlation of all company electronic information assets into an enterprise Data Warehouse which is used to support the overall analytical and reporting information needs of the business. POSITION SUMMARY: Design, implement and support local area, wide area, and virtual private networks required to support the application needs of the organization. Provide backup medium, support and maintenance for a portfolio of systems including Windows based servers, telephony equipment (SSC, Remote Personnel, and Stores), and all aspects of communication links to assure operational availability. Focus on hardware, software, telephony, backup and security aspects of network operations across the LAN/WAN configurations. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Design, plan, monitor and manage network traffic and performance. This includes Local Ara Network, Wide Area Network, Virtual Private Network, and corporate internet connection
  • Manage, maintain, and enhance the backup hardware and software to ensure the backup and recovery of all servers in use by the organization.
  • Manage, maintain and enhance Telephony equipment including servers, routers, and phones for the entire organization (SSC, Stores, and Remote Personnel).
  • Install, maintain, and enhance hardware and software to ensure network security and protection of corporate assets (company data). This includes but is not limited to IPS/IDS systems, virus prevention systems and secure network appliances.
  • Evaluate, install and configure software to ensure compatibility and reliability.
  • Order, configure, and distribute wireless devices including cell phones and connection cards.
  • Prepare for emergencies by implementing plans for network backups and disaster recovery.
  • Collaborate with director to ensure all servers, security appliances, network, storage area network, and all network hardware, are covered by maintenance contracts. Ensure compliance of software licensing.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent does not have any direct reports. QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or another related field.
    • Three to five years network administration experience.
    • Experience with Windows server operating systems and environment required.
    • Advanced knowledge of network design, firewalls, security appliances, operating systems, file servers, cloud systems (ie. Azure, AWS etc.) and personal computers required.
    • Ability to troubleshoot network software and installations required.
    • Knowledge of fiber, wire-based Ethernet, Cisco VoIP and Webex.
    • Hybrid schedule with predictable onsite attendance required three or more days per week to perform essential functions involving interactive behaviors with co-workers and managers, operation or manipulation of equipment and/or materials located only on site, and direct interaction with internal and/or external customers.
