Laborer - Meridian Waste Solutions : Job Details

Meridian Waste is seeking a hardworking, dependable Laborer to join our waste collection and yard maintenance team. This position includes riding on the back of a garbage truck to assist with waste collection, as well as performing general yard duties such as cleaning trash cans, picking up litter, and maintaining the cleanliness of our facility and customer sites.Key Responsibilities:* Ride on the back of a garbage truck to collect residential and commercial waste.* Load garbage, recycling, and yard waste safely and efficiently.* Clean, wash, and disinfect garbage and recycling bins as assigned.* Pick up litter and debris from customer sites, parking lots, and facility grounds.* Assist in keeping the truck, equipment, and work areas clean and orderly.* Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.* Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or customer concerns to supervisors.* Work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical tasks for extended periods.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:* No experience required; we will provide training.* Must be at least 18 years old.* Ability to repeatedly lift 50-75 pounds.* Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb in and out of trucks throughout the shift.* Willingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.* Dependable with a strong work ethic and good attendance.* Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.* Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.Preferred Qualifications:* Prior experience with manual labor, janitorial work, or waste collection.* Basic knowledge of safety practices related to lifting and equipment operation.Work Schedule:* Monday through Friday (occasional weekends or holidays may be required)* Early morning start times
