Laborer - Erie City School District : Job Details

• Must possess a current PA Driver's License and be insurable by Erie's Public Schools
• Must have the ability to operate various types of vehicles such as Box Trucks up to 24' feet in length, F-150 plow trucks, and stake body rear lift gate trucks
• Must be a team player and have good people skills
• Ability to lift 50-80 pounds
• Proficiency in the use of mechanic's hand tools and equipment

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of jobs requiring some degree of manual skill and prior work experience or training with light to heavy physical effort, using related equipment
• Possess the ability to operate heavy power mowers, saws, chain saws and related equipment
• Work may include maintenance of grounds, general laborer assisting all trades with labor tasks, and may require being outside or inside
• Required to help assemble and disassemble scaffolding
• Dig ditches and trenches with pick and shovel
• Break up concrete and pavement with jackhammer
• Ability to pour asphalt and hot mix patching, crakes, potholes in driveways, parking lots and playgrounds
• Must be able to drive large tractor for grass cutting
• Perform other related laboring work as assigned

Special Requirements:

• Physical Demands: Ability to move equipment weighing 75 + lbs., climb ladders, and work in high places. Sufficient physical ability, strength, mobility and stamina to lift, carry, push or pull objects that exceed 75 pounds in a series of functional tests, simulating the work environment.
• Work Environment: Ability to work after school hours including weekends and/or evenings
• Sufficient physical ability, strength, mobility and stamina to drive a vehicle, climb ladders, crawl under buildings, bend, stretch, stand, kneel, walk, stoop, crawl and extend legs
• Sufficient physical ability, strength, mobility and stamina to perform heavy physical labor in hot, cold and inclement weather conditions
• Sufficient physical ability, mobility and stamina to work in small spaces with arms extended

TESTS WILL BE ADMINISTERED TO THOSE WHO QUALIFY
