Laborer - Concrete - Glenn O. Hawbaker : Job Details

Job Summary:Perform a variety of manual labor tasks to assist Concrete Carpenter/Finisher. This hourly, non-exempt position will work with direct and indirect supervision.Essential Functions:* Assist in finishing concrete to learn and develop skill.* Assist in cutting and setting forms to learn and develop skill.* Grade stone, compact stone and prepare for pour of concrete.* Develop skill in using a lute.* Complete edging and hand floating with finisher.* Strip and clean forms.* Saw cut concrete joints.* Perform concrete structure work as needed.* Responsible for safely operating company vehicle as needed.* Ensure safe working environment.* Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.* May operate or be trained to operate heavy equipment, such as skid steer, roller, paver, screed, etc.* Frequently work more than 40 hours per week and non-traditional hours including night shift, Saturdays and occasionally Sundays.* Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.Knowledge of:* Tools, including their maintenance.Ability to:* Learn and follow GOH Company policies and procedures.* Learn to read grades.* Anticipate what is needed next and have it ready.Qualifications:* Must have own basic set of hand tools.* Valid driver's license for the state in which you reside with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers.* Must have basic math skills.* Must successfully complete PennDOT Flagger Training Course.Education:* Prefer high school diploma or equivalent.Experience:* None required.Physical Requirements:* Constant 67-100% Ability to bend, sit, stoop, and stand for long periods of time in the outdoor weather.* Constant 67-100% Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.* Constant 67-100% Ability to work in a field environments, including but not liimted to exposure to dust, inclement weather conditions, extreme heat and cold, noise, vibrations and a variety of petroleum products.* Constant 67-100% Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.* Frequent 34-66% Ability to lift 50 pounds consistently.* Frequent 34-66% Ability to walk and work on uneven terrain.This is a safety-sensitive position.
