Role of Lab Technician

Nanion Technologies is a rapidly growing instrumentation company offering automated ion channel screening workstations to industry and academic research institutions. Nanion is a globally operating company with headquarters in Munich, Germany. We are looking for a Full-Time laboratory technician in our US subsidiary in Livingston, New Jersey.

The position requires the following:

· A blend of strong time management skills, problem-solving abilities, effective communication, adaptability, organizational skills, collaborative abilities and a commitment to continuous learning

· Cell-culture related tasks such as preparation of buffers, media, solution and compound preparations

· Utilizing aseptic/sterile techniques while maintaining cell lines and handling reagents

· Support scientific work related to applications of automated patch clamp systems

· Data entry, analysis, and detailed documentation of lab-related tasks

· Ordering of lab and office supplies as well as organization of the lab/office space

· The ability to understand scientific documentation and properly adhere to protocols, SOPs and safety guidelines

· Assist Laboratory Manager with all day-to-day operational tasks for lab/office

· Assist teammates with tasks which include package shipments and delivery, including dry ice pick-ups and deliveries

· Create and maintain various inventory spreadsheets

The successful applicant should have excellent abilities to work independently with strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. The candidate must have the ability to work in a multidisciplinary, multi-cultural and team-oriented environment. In addition, the applicant is enthusiastic towards excellence in science, research & development and critical thinking. This position has an

opportunity for growth within the organization. The position has an initial evaluation period of six months. Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the US.

Qualifications:

· Requirements: Candidates with BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Bioengineering, Neuroscience or related fields will be considered

· The applicant should have specific lab experience in cell culturing, solution preparation and general lab procedures following standard lab practices and in-house SOPs

· Possess strong multitasking abilities and be versatile, flexible and adaptable

· Proficiency in English, both spoken and written fluency required

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams

Salary: $55,000 annually
