Yes Position Purpose To set up and conduct a variety of laboratory tests and experiments by applying established methods, procedures, and techniques in support of research studies directed at understanding bacterial biofilm formation. DescriptionRequired Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Associates plus 1-2 year(s) of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Competence in several laboratory methods, procedures and techniques as well as the equipment and instruments. Ability to work independently with good judgment and good organizational and time management skills. Willingness to work with/be exposed to hazardous materials such as infectious materials and/or hazardous chemicals. Knowledge of computers and software applications a plus. Additional InstructionsQuick Link Key Accountabilities Description Conducts laboratory experiments, utilizing a range of established methods, procedures, and techniques with necessary preparations, observes experiments, records observations and maintains laboratory notebook Percentage Of Time 75 Description Prepares appropriate and understandable representations of data such as graphs, charts, tables, statistical summaries, etc Percentage Of Time 5 Description Laboratory maintenance; orders lab supplies ((backup is to be emailed to the M&I office asap upon placing orders)), monitors laboratory equipment and instrument performance, obtains maintenance and repair as necessary. Percentage Of Time 10 Description May assist in animal research; including maintenance of mouse colonies, injections, breeding, in vivo assays and entering data into computerized databases. Percentage Of Time 5 Description If interested in pursuing a PhD degree in the future, participate in journal clubs, departmental seminars, lab meetings, etc, to develop associated skills.
