Pride Health is hiring a Specialist, Quality Assurance to support our client's medical facility based in Clifton NJ 07012

This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Title: Specialist, Quality Assurance

Location: Clifton NJ 07012

Schedule: Day Shift (8 AM - 4:30 PM)

Pay Range: $50 to $55/hr

$2000 to $2200/Week, Stipend included for Travelers

Contract : 6 Months + Possible extension

(Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.) The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume.

Work Environment: Biohazard laboratory setting

Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Specialist supports and coordinates initiatives that promote consistent, high-quality laboratory practices across all phases—pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical—aligned with our organization's mission and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Licensing & Accreditation Compliance

  • Support internal inspections for labs and specimen collection sites to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including CAP accreditation and company standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource on CLIA '88 and CAP regulatory standards.

Proficiency Testing & Validation

  • Ensure enrollment and active participation in required Proficiency Testing (PT) programs; assist with corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage Validity Check programs and Blind Sample resubmission processes.
  • Maintain standardized comparison processes across instruments, methods, and lab sites.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist in organizing monthly QA meetings and supporting departmental Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development, distribution, and maintenance of the QA Manual.
  • Support corporate-level quality programs such as:
  • Quality Surveillance Program
  • Patient Results Distribution Program
  • Best Practice Team Initiative
  • Database Change Verification Program

Reporting & Issue Tracking

  • Facilitate prompt reporting of quality issues in line with SOPs.
  • Track and document all revised laboratory reports according to compliance standards.
  • Perform additional technical duties as assigned by the Technical Manager.

Qualifications:

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology – Required
  • Meets CLIA ‘88 requirements for General Laboratory Supervisor – Required

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory environment – Required
  • Strong background in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and regulatory/accreditation compliance – Required

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of clinical laboratory operations
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and quality improvement tools
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Organizational and project management capabilities
  • Analytical and technical proficiency
  • Solid computer skills and experience with quality tracking systems

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a matrixed organization
  • Multi-tasking ability in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven success in motivating and collaborating with cross-functional teams
