Maintain all aspects of glassware cleaning processes and continually supply all labs with their stock of clean glassware. Provide auxiliary services as necessary.Essential Job Functions
  • Collect, wash, sterilize and return glassware in a timely manner to every lab in BTI.
  • Perform various auxiliary services as requested by labs, including:
    • Assembling and sterilizing pipette tips and various tubes for use by lab personnel
    • Collecting, autoclaving and properly disposing of waste that needs sterilization before disposal
    • Collecting and properly disposing of broken glass and plastic waste
  • Assemble Excel report of auxiliary services utilized by labs on a monthly basis and submit to supervisor
  • Assist with BTI's Safety Program.
  • Assist with preparation of lab media for various lab and understand BTI's chemical inventory system.
Other duties as assigned.RequirementsEducation and CertificationHigh school diploma or GED, or work experience at an equivalent level.Experience and KnowledgeAbility to be trained on autoclaves and industrial dishwashers. Proven organization skills preferred.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNo supervisor responsibilities. Communication SkillsAbility to communicate through e-mail and an effective ability to speak one-on-one or in small groups is required. Computer SkillsUse of Microsoft Office suite.TravelTravel is generally not required.Physical Demands and Working ConditionsSome physical exertion is required, such as long periods of standing, recurring bending and occasional lifting, up to 50 pounds. Regular physical exertion is required, such as climbing, crouching, crawling, and/or lifting. Regular use of chemicals, heavy machinery or other equipment/materials that require use of personnel protective equipment and routine precautions.This job description does not list all the duties of the job.
