The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with a strong background in patient care, specimen collection, and laboratory procedures. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct various laboratory tests and procedures under established protocols. - Collect specimens from patients using appropriate techniques, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and ABG collections. - Utilize a variety of laboratory equipment and supplies, including gray top, green top, light blue top, purple top, and red top tubes. - Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using a charting system, with experience in EPIC as a hard requirement. - Adhere to safety protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure the safety and integrity of samples. - Prioritize patient collections based on order requests (stat, timed, routine). - Provide post-venipuncture site care and ensure patient comfort during procedures. - Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to provide high-quality patient care. Qualifications: - Valid New York state license is required prior to submission. - Minimum of 1 year of previous charge experience in a laboratory or clinical setting. - Experience with patient ratios varying from single patients to larger groups, depending on time of day. - Ability to float between units as needed, ensuring versatility in patient care. Skills Required: - Demonstrated proficiency in laboratory testing techniques and equipment. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards for quality and accuracy.
