Manager, Laboratory Services Schedule: Full-Time (80 hours per 2-week pay period) Shift: Monday-Friday, Day Shift
Key Responsibilities: - Ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency standards.
- Perform competency checks, education, registry, and training documentation.
- Coordinate and administer performance improvement initiatives and indicator tracking.
- Review, update, and communicate laboratory policies and dashboards.
- Investigate, validate, and implement new technologies.
- Administer the Proficiency Testing Program and assist with investigations of unsatisfactory results.
- Respond to occurrence reports, customer feedback, and conduct investigations.
- Serve on interdepartmental committees.
- Plan staffing needs, interview, hire, and onboard new team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and revise job descriptions as needed.
- Resolve day-to-day operational issues and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee onboarding activities (system access, orientation, keycards).
- Promote efficient use of systems, personnel, and equipment.
- Assist with budgeting and prepare financial impact reports.
Education & Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science required.
- 3-5 years of laboratory leadership experience required.
- Multi-hospital experience preferred.
- Lean and Six Sigma experience preferred.
Certifications: - ASCP certification preferred.
Supervision: - Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Supervises Laboratory Partners.
Physical & Vision Requirements: - Must be able to lift/move up to 20 lbs.
- Requires close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
